PureVoice DESCRIPTION
========================
QUALCOMM's PureVoice™ Player-Recorder and QUALCOMM's PureVoice™ Plug-In for Eudora® let you record voice messages on your computer and send them as e-mail attachments with your e-mail. The PureVoice Player-Recorder (standalone application) works with most e-mail systems on the Macintosh. If you are using Eudora Pro or Eudora Light version 3.1 or later for Macintosh as your e-mail software, the PureVoice Plug-In for Eudora lets you record and send PureVoice voice messages from within Eudora. In this case too, attachment of the voice message to a Eudora e-mail message is automatic, at the touch of a button in PureVoice.
PureVoice features an easy-to-use onscreen player-recorder with a standard VCR-like button panel and digital readouts that let you customize your voice message. You can edit your voice messages by inserting additional recorded material into them, or by recording over existing material. You can play back your messages, adjusting speaker volume and varying speed without distortion of voice or pitch. You can adjust microphone volume/sensitivity when recording. You can save your voice messages to files for later use. Or, you can attach your voice messages to e-mail messages as soon as you're finished recording them.
PureVoice voice messages are recorded at very high sound quality -- nearly equal to that of a telephone call made on a good-to-high-quality home phone. And the quality is equal to that of the world's best digital wireless telephones.
When you send a PureVoice voice message as an attachment to your e-mail, your recipients can play back your voice message on their Power Macintosh or 32-bit Windows 95/NT computer, if they have PureVoice installed on their machine. QUALCOMM distributes PureVoice for free: have your recipients download the PureVoice Player-Recorder or the PureVoice Plug-In for Eudora from our Web site at <http://eudora.qualcomm.com/purevoice/>, or our ftp site at <ftp://ftp.eudora.com/>.

INSTALLATION
==============
Installation is simple. Once you have downloaded the PureVoice installer
from our Web site, just double-click on the PureVoice installation icon on
your desktop, and follow the instructions in the installation screens.
When you have finished installation, the PureVoice Player-Recorder will be installed in the folder of your choice. If Eudora is present, an alias to the PureVoice Plug-in will be placed in the Eudora Stuff folder located in the folder containing the Eudora application.
You must quit and then restart Eudora in order to gain access to PureVoice through the Eudora menus.
To launch the PureVoice Player-Recorder, simply double-click on the PureVoice application icon on your desktop. The Player-Recorder will be launched automatically by Eudora when needed.
To create a new voice attachement from Eudora, open a new message window and click on the PureVoice icon at the top of the new message window. (If this icon has been turned off, from the Message menu select Message->Attach->PureVoice...)
PureVoice has several settings that let you customize the application to your needs. To access these settings, make PureVoice active and select Preferences... from the Edit menu. The settings dialog lets you specify whether or not to begin playing voice messages as soon as they're opened, to begin recording as soon as you start a new message, and to automatically save your recorded voice messages to files.
For more information, see the PureVoice Help, discussed in the next section below.
Note: Each time you install an updated version of the PureVoice Plug-In for Eudora, you must quit and restart Eudora in order to make the updated Plug-In (and any new settings options) available from within Eudora.

GETTING HELP
==============
Help is plentiful in PureVoice! First, there's Balloon Help. This can be accessed from the Balloon Help menu (Apple Guide menu) when PureVoice is launched and active. Select Show Balloons and then point to the object in the PureVoice dialog for which you want help. You can also point to menu titles and menu options. Turn off Balloon Help by selecting Hide Balloons from the Balloon Help menu. You can also turn Balloon Help on and off by clicking the Balloon Help icon in the PureVoice document window.
PureVoice also has an extensive online help system with clickable hotlinks that take you to your desired topic. With PureVoice launched and active, select PureVoice Help from the Balloon Help menu (Apple Guide menu). An online help dialog appears, showing the contents of the help system. Simply click on your desired topic, or click on the buttons at the bottom of the dialog to navigate through the help system. The online help includes step-by-step procedures for the main tasks in PureVoice, such as recording messages, playing them back, editing them, saving them, and attaching them to your e-mail messages.

You will receive an automated response indicating that your bug report has been received and forwarded to our engineering staff. Unless additional information is needed, you will not receive a direct response.
